Capability: Quite simply this is your ability to access your ability. You can have all the potential and talent in the world but if your overall approach to life and lifestyle are not in harmony with your desired outcomes then your capability will act as a restrictor on your ability instead of being the force multiplier it truly can be and needs to be.
Character: Here we focus on the person you need to become in order to see the performance you want to see. You will grasp the inner traits that fuel your actions or your inactions. More than that you’ll gain clarity on your strengths and discern as to whether you underplay or overplay them. Developing Character awareness is critical for understanding performance resistance and how you can outweigh or overcome this resistance.
Competence: How do you rate yourself ‘in’ your role? Now, how about ‘on’ your role? One may well outweigh the other and that’s where our focus on your key attributes comes into play. It’s one thing to know and/or have the expertise…but can you apply it? Competence allows you to transform what is in your head (your vision) into a living reality. Without deep and developing competence much of what you desire will remain ruminating in your head.
Care: How much do you care? Both about yourself & about the people you lead? The Legacy Leader can only give what they’ve got. So you’ve got to prioritise your own levels of self-care so that you ‘walk the talk’ in terms of both the example and practical guidance you share with your people.
Choices: Your daily choices are the exponential factor in the LQ equation. We are merely the sum total & aggregation of the choices we make about our actions & habits. You need to be clear about what propels you forward and, in turn, what inspires and lifts up the people you lead.
